I don't think any single app will shine the brightest in any person's workflow on all levels. I use Nebo to write notes and convert the notes to plain text, which is great when taking notes while watching YouTube video. I use Obsidian to link notes together and flesh out thoughts. I write my notes on my mobile phone if needed, on the go in a markdown compatible editor, synced with Google drive. So, I decided that one tool to rule it all (being it Notion, Evernote or Nimbus, or whatever) is no longer the path I want or need to take. The real realisation is that a filing cabinet is not what I needed, as I need to revisit notes in relations to actually gain insights and yeah, Evernote does not do well with relations, and the new trend called "backlinking". I am still struggling with my art references, I like Evernote's preview thumbnails where I can scroll through my art and reference art, but just to realise, I don't do that often anyway.
Store my PDF's in drive, with selective synced folders on my laptop so I do not get a big heap of old files on my laptop taking up space every day. However I noticed that Google Drive now basically does the same, so for searching purposes, I do not need Evernote anymore for that. I loved Evernote's search also handwritten notes, it made it very easy to find my bullet journal notes back. I also decided to migrate out using Obsidian and Google Drive as my main setup.
